Welcome to Year 2
Hello and welcome back after one of the hottest summer's on record! We hope you've had lots of fun (whilst staying safe in the sun) and are ready to hit the ground running, this academic year, we certainly are!
Mrs Lewis will be kick starting our week of learning on a Monday and Mrs Oustayiannis will be continuing the learning from Thursday. Miss Stringer will be supporting us on our journey throughout the week.
Our PE day is Tuesday, so do come into school dressed for outdoor PE on this day. Home learning continues to focus on reading a minimum of 3 x per week at home with an adult signature, 30 minutes of NumBots for all children in class and spellings. These will be given out on a Friday and tested the following Friday. Spellings will be in everyone's reading record. If you are not in school on a Friday do remember to ask when you are back in school.
In the afternoons, we will be exploring toys from past to present in our Wonderful Emporium topic, along with plants in science, signs and symbols in R.E. and Djembe drumming just to name a few. Our mornings are dedicated to English and Maths, including reading and phonics.
Throughout each week we will be continually searching for our Shephalbury Learner and Bucket Filler so do read Mr Conway's blog to find out our awardees.
Please e-mail us at: firstname.lastname@example.org or catch us on the playground at the beginning or end of each day, if you need to catch up with us about something.
Looking forward to beginning our year 2 journey with all of our wonderful families.
