At Shephalbury Park we are very proud of our school meals which are cooked fresh on the premises every day by Hertfordshire Catering Limited. Children can have a hot and healthy school meal, which costs £2.60 per day, or they can bring in a packed lunch from home. Payments need to be made in advance on School Gateway or direct to the school office, if you need assistance with this, please contact Mrs Robertson in the school office.
We offer a three week pupil choice menu, where there are three hot options (1 meat/fish, 1 vegetarian 1 jacket) and a sandwich option daily. Pupils select which option they would like to have each morning during registration. From January 2020, a jacket potato is available daily for all years. All of our meals are nutritionally balanced and appropriate for school aged children.
PLEASE NOTE, ON WEEK ONE, FRIDAY, IT IS NOW FISH FILLET, NOT SALMON NIBBLES AND ON WEEK TWO, MONDAY, IT IS NOW CHICKEN WRAP, NOT CHICKEN KORMA FILLET.
On Thursday, 5th March to celebrate World Book Day, we are having a special menu.
Horrid Henry's BBQ Chicken Fillet in a Bun or
Moody Margarita Sweetcorn Pizza
with Baked Potato Wedges, Favourite Vegetable Selection followed by
Perfect Peter's Chocolate Orange Cookie.
Jacket potato and school packed lunch will also be available.
Spring - Summer Menu - Available approximately 2 weeks after we return to school following the Coronavirus school closure. We will continue with the Autumn/Winter menu until further notice.
Free school meals
All children in Reception and Years 1 & 2 are entitled to universal infant free school meals.
However, it is important that Parents/Carers who in receipt of certain benefits, complete the online forms to enable their child/ren to receive free school meals as they progress through the school and will ensure pupil premium funding is allocated to the school.
If you think you are entitled to free school meals you need to apply to Hertfordshire County Council as soon as possible as it can take some time to process and is not backdated (please follow the link below). If you would like some further information regarding this, please speak to Mrs Chandler in the school office.
Our lunch times are very active for the children, with a wide variety of options available to them, for example, indoor board game club, nature area, small world activites, large play equipment and lots more.
