Welcome
Welcome to Shephalbury Park Primary School, the home of the 'Shephalbury Learner!'
Shephalbury Park is a precious place, where creativity, challenge and enjoyment are at the very core of everything we do. We share a close bond and value the strong relationships which are mutually supportive. They make our school a very happy place.
Ofsted (October 2022) recognised the outstanding provisions in place for our children, especially in behaviour, welfare and personal development. As a good school we provide a high quality of education. Our inclusive practices have also been validated as a clear strength. We are regularly asked to share our good practice with other schools across the county.
We know that your child's early experience of school will have a lasting influence on their motivation and attitude to life and learning. We value the importance of ensuring your child flourishes. This is why we instil the attributes of the 'Shephalbury L.E.A.R.N.E.R.'
The strong culture of the 'Shephalbury L.E.A.R.N.E.R.' is woven throughout our school. It's why our motto 'Imagine, Believe, Achieve' comes to life. It begins from visiting before your children start in our nursery. It continues through every class group, and in play. This extends to our staff team and wider community. Our children talk about the learner attributes: reflect, solve create, grow, think stretch and risk. They strive to show them.
Trust, understanding and support are the basis of our partnership with you. We want the same - for 'Shephalbury learners' to be responsible, successful citizens in an ever-changing future.
We highly recommend you visit our lovely school.
You are warmly invited to make an appointment with our office.
You will see how we encourage our learners to have a growth mindset. We use the word 'YET'. It is so effective in helping children to recognise the power of their efforts - with a growth mindset, they can successfully imagine, believe and achieve. Our staff actively model these ideas and behaviours. Our learners challenge themselves and know they can grow from their mistakes.
We provide lots of curricular and extra-curricular enrichment opportunities to foster a variety of interests and talents. Whether it be visiting the local shops from our early years classes, performing at the Royal Albert Hall, or competing in a bench-ball tournament, our learners broaden their experiences through a rich offer. The range is supportive of creativity, mental health, physical health, social skills and learning too. You might like to check out our weekly blog and see what we have been up to.
Our dynamic staff are deeply dedicated to providing consistently high standards in everything we do. Shephalbury Park is a school that recognises, appreciates and celebrates our whole community. We enthusiastically invite you to browse our website, read our weekly blog, view our social media on the links below, and enjoy our school. Proudly your head teacher,
Mrs Pamela Finch
