Welcome to Year 5!
Welcome back to Shephalbury Park, Year 5! We hope you have had a wonderful summer and are ready to return to school. It is going to be an exciting, but busy term.
We will be starting our year learning about The Victorians. This will include our trip to the Royal Gunpowder Mills- our first trip for a couple of years! We are all extremely excited for this and we hope you are too!
Our maths learning will include learning about number and place value, addition and subtraction, geometry (shape) and multiplication and division!
In English, we will be learning how to develop our characters and settings, to improve the effect on our audience. We will also be using a variety of punctuation for effect, along with using vocabulary choice, word order, sentence length, sentence complexity and punctuation for effect.
Monday is a busy for Year 5. We have our allocated library session, so please ensure that library books are in school on Monday’s.
PE is also on Monday so PE kit needs to be worn. Hair must be tied back and jewellery removed.
