Year 6 Jobs

As a way of further developing your life skills linked to future employment and longer term aspirations we have a list of specially designed ‘jobs’ that you can undertake in school. You will have the opportunity to experience the process of applying for a job and completing an application form, taking account of job descriptions and associated responsibilities.

The positions available will include: ‘Reading Buddy’, ‘Assembly Assistant’, ‘Library Monitor’ and ‘Digital Leader’ among others. If you are interested, you will need to formally apply for a position and then, if appropriate, take part in an ‘interview’. Successful candidates will be invited take up their posts for a fixed period of time. You will receive payment in house-points.

You will be expected to carry out your duties for the prescribed length of the role (usually 1 term), when thinking about applying for jobs, please remember that this is a commitment. Should you prove ineffective in carrying out your jobs, you may be released from your duties early. Guidance, support and encouragement will be given throughout.

All job advertisements will be displayed on the website and in the Year 5 & 6 corridor.

I would like to encourage you to be as independent as possible in this exciting initiative. The thought that you put into your applications, as well as the presentation of it, will be taken into account when we review them all.
