Welcome to Year 6!
We hope that you have all had a restful summer break and are ready for lots more learning!
This term we start our new topic, War and Peace. As part of this topic, we will look at Music and Food from 1940, Stevenage during the War and Anne Frank. We'll be reflecting back in time in our English topic and our guided reading book will be ‘Once’ by Morris Gleitzman.
As well as learning about World War Two, we'll also be learning how to classify critters and exploring online safety in computing and painting and blending colours in Art! RE will be Christianity and Buddhism.
Swimming commences on Thursday 9th September. If you wish, you can come to school with your swimming costume underneath your school uniform.
Spellings and reading continue this term, as does Times Tables Rock Stars homework. As the term progresses, there will be additional homework as we revise topics reading for the SATs. Reading books will be changed on a Friday.
