Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Information Report

(School Offer)

The Government has published a range of provisions to improve the quality and scope of support provided to children and young people with special educational needs, as well as their parents.

Included in these provisions is: A requirement for local authorities to publish a ‘Local Offer’ of services for disabled children and young people and those with special educational needs. Further information on how the Local Authority meets the needs of Pupils with SEND can be found on the Local offer page.

At Shephalbury Park Primary School we are committed to equality. We aim for every child to be aspirational, reach their full potential and achieve at school no matter their background or personal circumstances.

In order to do this many steps are taken to support them through their learning journey.

* Quality teaching is vital; however for some children there are occasions when further support may be needed to help them achieve their targets.

 * At Shephalbury Park School we have a SENCo who is responsible for SEND and ensuring that the school policy is met and that adequate provision is made to support individual children’s special educational needs.

*The SENCo works closely with class teachers, the head teacher and senior leadership to monitor progress and plan interventions. When necessary the SENCo works with outside agencies to receive specialist support.
